01 — What Are Cookies
Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. They allow the website to remember information about your visit — such as whether you have previously consented to cookie use — making your next visit more straightforward.
Cookies are widely used and do not contain executable code or personal identification information on their own. Their impact on your experience depends entirely on how they are used.
02 — Cookies We Use
The Thoughtium website uses four categories of cookies. Essential cookies are always active; the others require your consent.
Essential Cookies (Always active)
These cookies are necessary for the website to function. They manage session state and remember your cookie consent preference. They cannot be disabled without preventing basic website functionality.
Duration: Session or up to 12 months · Examples: cookieConsent
Analytics Cookies
These cookies help us understand how visitors use our website — which pages are most visited, how long visitors stay, and where they navigate from. This data is aggregated and used to improve the website. We use Google Analytics for this purpose.
Duration: Up to 26 months · Provider: Google Analytics
Marketing Cookies
These cookies track visits across websites to allow us to display relevant communications where we use advertising platforms. We do not currently run paid advertising campaigns, but this category is included for completeness.
Duration: Up to 12 months · Status: Not currently in use
Preference Cookies
These cookies remember settings you have configured, such as regional preferences or display options, so you do not have to reconfigure them on each visit.
Duration: Up to 12 months

04 — Third-Party Cookies
When analytics cookies are enabled, Google Analytics places cookies on your device to collect anonymised usage data. Google Analytics data is processed in accordance with Google's privacy policy and is subject to Google's data processing terms. We have configured Google Analytics to anonymise IP addresses.
We do not use social media platform cookies or advertising network cookies on the Thoughtium website.
05 — Cookie Duration
Cookies on the Thoughtium website fall into two duration categories:
- Session cookies: deleted automatically when you close your browser. Used for basic functionality during your visit.
- Persistent cookies: remain on your device until they expire or you delete them. The cookieConsent preference cookie expires after 12 months; Google Analytics cookies expire after up to 26 months.
06 — Managing Cookies in Your Browser
You can also manage cookies directly through your browser settings. Note that disabling all cookies may affect website functionality.

On mobile, cookie settings are typically found under Privacy or Advanced settings in your browser's main menu.
07 — Your Rights
